The Church at Philadelphia- Jesus Loves!

Do you remember singing the children’s song, “Jesus Loves Me” when you were younger?  It is with great excitement and expectation I look forward to the day when I stand before my King and hear Him say with a heart and expression of deep and abiding love, “Come, you who are blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.  And again, Well done, good and faithful slave, you were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things, enter into your rest!”  This morning we will hear our Master tell us of the church He loves!  We will learn about the faithful brethren in the city of Philadelphia who were loved by Christ Jesus because they were doing the will of our heavenly Father!  I wonder what Jesus would say about the Pleasant Hill Church?  I wonder if we, each one of us, like the brethren described in Philadelphia, are faithfully doing the will of God, holding to His word of perseverance, being strengthened to endure the trials and temptations that the future holds for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose in Christ Jesus.  Let each of us use this great example of a local congregation in the exercise of our faith and gifts in serving the LORD Jesus Christ together until He comes.  Let us labor as a loving family member, encouraging one another day after day until He returns bring glory, honor, and praise to those who have sacrificially served Him according to His will!
