Today we begin a new series on how to build spiritual momentum in our work and service in and for the Kingdom of Christ. This year’s theme is, “The 5th Law of Momentum- The Power of Trust” This morning we will introduce our theme and the two anchor verses for the lessons and sermons for 2022. The Scripture makes it evident that TRUST is both foundational and monumental for the work of building Christ’s Kingdom. In times of instability, TRUST is critically important for ability as Christians to not only survive but really thrive in a world that is shaking apart. Remember, the Scripture teaches that we have received an “Unshakeable Kingdom.” How is it possible to participate in this “Unshakeable Kingdom” if we don’t fully trust the One who created the Kingdom and are resolved to be ourselves trustworthy in our lives of service in and for the Kingdom? The two part sermon this morning will include a brief introduction to Jeremiah 17:5-10 and 2 Corinthians 1:8-11. In Jeremiah we will learn that we need to beware of misplacing our trust and putting our trust and confidence in the LORD. To do this we must examine our heart condition. Is it a heart of deceit or a heart of integrity? In the passage from Second Corinthians we will see the importance of placing our trust rightly during times of great trials and afflictions. We will learn that God is completely faithful to delivering His faithful brethren from harm as He fulfills His will in them. Finally, we will discover that we as faithful, trustworthy brethren are God’s emissaries to help each other!
