In HIS Presence! Far Above All Rule & Authority

Text: Psalm 16:11  and  Ephesians 1:1-3; 15-23

Introduction: In Christ Jesus we have been given every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.  In light of being chosen in Him from before the foundation of the world Paul prays that we would know what we have been given by God.

His prayer is that we would know the hope we have, the riches of glory in the inheritance we have and the power in us through His Holy Spirit that have been given to us according the power God exercised in the resurrection of Christ from the dead.

Point 1:We Have the Hope of His Calling!

  • Our life is “Absolutely Secure” in Him!
  • His Calling– The word “Church” literally means “those called out.”  According to 1 Peter 2:9, All Christians or the church is used in reference to have been called out of darkness into His marvelous light so that we would proclaim Him among the nations.
  • His Hope– In looking at Hebrews 6:13-20 our hope of experiencing the abundant life now and eternal life to come is found to be absolutely secure because it has been founded on His promise and faithfulness.

Point  2:We Possess the Riches of His Glory!

  • He has given us His glorious Spirit within us!
  • His Inheritance In the Saints-God our Father has secured our inheritance with Christ by giving us His Holy Spirit as a pledge, which is like a down payment or earnest money on a house promising to pay the full amount at a future date. The Lord, by giving us His Spirit is promising to return and redeem our bodies, souls, and spirits complete at the second coming of Christ.
  • The Riches of His Glory– The riches of Christ’s glory are the many specific facets…

He has given us His glorious Spirit within us!

  • The Riches of His GloryContinued…

Of His magnificent character given to you through His indwelling Holy Spirit.

Point 3:We have been given His MEGA POWER!

  • He has given us His power to overcome all things
  • Surpassing– (5235) “Hyprballo”  This Greek word means to superceed or go beyond a given measure or degree of something examined
  • Greatness- (3173) “Megas”  This Greek word is where we get the “Mega.”  It communicates the concept of being huge or much bigger than normal, such as “Mega Awesome!” or “Mega Loud!”
  • Power- (1411) “Dunamis”We derive the word dynamite from this word.  I means might as in mighty.  It also describes the “wonderful works” of God in and through faithful Christians
