How to Maintain a Clean Pure Conscience

Text:Timothy 1:5 and Titus 2:11-14
Introduction:We must take personal responsibility for living a life of godly purity. We must commit ourselves to honesty is self -evaluation and then confessing our sins to God. Second, we must choose to cleanse ourselves through the repentance process. Finally, we must be zealous for good works of faith.
Point 1: The Need for Personal Confession
- A sincere heart recognizes and confesses sin.
- 1 John 1:8-2:2
We must be open and honest with God about our sin. We must confess our sins so He can cleanse and restore us.
- Proverbs 28:13
Our spiritual well-being and personal prosperity from the blessings of God depend on our confessing and forsaking our sin.
Point 2: The Need for Personal Purification
- Christians are to be actively involved in their purity
- 1 John 3:2-3
Recognizing that all people will experience the resurrection and judgment, we need to be responsible in purifying our lives according to His word.
- 1 Corth. 6:14-7:1
We have a personal responsibility to “come out and be separate” from this sinful and perverse generation. We are to cleanse ourselves from all defilement.
Point 3: The Need to be Zealous for Good Works
- We were created to do the good works of God.
- Ephesians 2:10
We are God’s new creation, created by Christ to manifest His character through the good works of faith.
- 1 Peter 3:8-17
The Christian must be zealous for good works, works of faith produced by the faith of Christ resident in our hearts.
Conclusions:Confession, Purification and Good Works!
