The Whole Purpose of the Power of Presence!

Text:Romans 8:28-30 and Colossians 3:9-15

Introduction: The whole purpose of God’s presence in you is that His glory would be imparted to your life. The whole purpose for you to “draw near to God” and be found “in him” is to possess the riches of His glory in your life. The whole purpose of your presence in the lives of others is to manifest his glorious character and draw all people to Christ!

Point 1: His Purpose, His Image, His Glory!

We are called to be conformed to the Image of Christ.
Called…according to His purpose. His purpose is to glorify Christ in our bodies.
Predestined…plan to be conformed to the image of Christ. Manifesting His character.
Glorified…for His purpose to manifest His magnificent character to both men and angels.

Point 2: From Vessels of Wrath to Vessels of Mercy!

The riches of His glory made known through mercy!
To make known His Power…to manifest His perfect patient as an example to all those who would believe. 1 Tim. 1:15-16
To make known the riches of His glory…in mercy, love, kindness and grace. 2:1-7
We were prepared beforehand…for the good works of faith produced by the faith of Christ. Eph. 2:8-10

Point 3: God’s Glorious/Magnificent Character Manifest!

Our purpose in Him is to manifest His glory to others.
God willed to…make known what is the riches of the glory of Christ in You. Eph. 1:18
In the hope of…a confident expectation that Christ’s glory would be manifest through Christians to other people. 2:2-3
Putting on the…new man being clothed in His glory. Manifested in compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forbearance, forgiveness and love. 3:9-15

Conclusion: We must recognize and intentionally make know the power of His presence in our lives.
