The Power of Presence! His Mega Power Within!

Text:Ephesians 1:18-20 and Ephesians 3:14-21

Introduction:

“Everybody wants to change the world!” was the line from the chorus of a popular song back in 80’s. It was all about POWER! Power to change your life! Power to influence others to change their lives! Power to change the world and human history! As Christians we possess an exceedingly great power within to do just this, change our world! This power is defined as the “Hyper-Mega-Power” from God! Today, we will answer the question; Who is the source of this power and how do we get it and grow it? We will also examine the question, what does this Mega Power do for us?

Point 1: What is the Source of this Mega Power!

It is the divine power of God given through the gospel

Ephesians 1:19-20 The power we possess is the surpassing great power that God gives to us. It is the power that He used to raise Jesus from that dead and seated Him as His right hand! Philippians 3:7-10
1 Peter 1:3-6 Christians are born again, born from above, born of God, to a living and enduring hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. The power that God exerted to raise Christ is the very power that resides in our bodies! It is the power that protects us now through faith even in times of great trial and persecution.

1 Peter 3:21

Romans 1:16-17The gospel of Jesus Christ is the “Hyper-Mega-Power” of God that saves us from the power and consequences of our past sin. This awesome power is granted to us and then unleashed through our faith in and the faith of the Lord. Those who were once sinners by nature are now sons and daughters of God and are, by nature, holy, justified, sanctified, and empowered to live a life of righteousness 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 & Ephesians 1:13-14

Point 2: What does His Mega Power do for Us?

We are empowered to be joyfully content in all things!
2 Peter 1:2-3 God’s divine power within us has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness through the true knowledge of Jesus Christ who has called you to share in His glorious character! 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14
Ephesians 3:14-21 The riches of God’s glorious character within strengthens us by His power through His holy Spirit in the inner man. He did this, so that Christ would be manifested in our mortal bodies and that we might comprehend and know the love of Christ to be filled up to the fullness of Him! 1 Peter 1:5
2 Corinthians 4:7-11 The surpassing greatness of God’s power within is not from ourselves, so that we will be empowered to endure all things! This is the power that enables us to manifest the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh!
