Introduction:The power of His presence begins with the indwelling presence of His holy Spirit in our bodies. To have a life that is renewed and brings refreshment to those around is one that must have the old man removed and replaced with Christ.
Point 1: HIS indwelling Presence begins at Immersion!
- True faith motivated immersion, is where it begins!
- “Repent…”means to change the mind about sin and embrace goodness. Acts 20:18-21& 26:19-20
- “and Return…”means to be immersed in water in obedience to the gospel of Christ. Acts 2:36-38
- “so that…”the reason for doing something.
- 1. immersion or baptism is when your sins are forgiven and washed away.Acts 22:16 2.immersion is when a person receives the Holy
Spirit in their bodies.Acts 9:17-18
Point 2: “I Have Been Crucified with Christ…”
- Being crucified with Christ means, “I” no longer live!
- I have been…crucified, put to death, with Christ to atone for my sins. 6:3-4
- I no longer live…the old man, the sinful nature is destroyed in my life. 6:6-7
- Christ lives within me…the old man is dead and removed Christ now lives in me. 1:26-27
Point 3: “I Live By the Faith of the Son of God!”
- Christ’s faith produces the life of a child of God.
- The life which I now live…the new life I have is the life of Christ living like Him. 3:3-4
- In the flesh…means while a person is alive and has a physical body. 2 Cor. 4:10-11
- I live by Christ’s faith…His convictions and beliefs. 3:7-9
- The one who loved me and…His life was and is a life of sacrificial love for others. 2 Cor. 5:14-15
