The Divine Standard of a Son of God’s Love!

Today we close our series of lessons on, The 6th Law of Momentum, “The Power of Fear!”  The fear of God is to hate evil and the fear of God is to love Him with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength and to love all others with His love!  This morning we will conclude with the sermon titled, “The Divine Standard of a Son of God’s Love!”  Many of you have heard me say that the greatest commandment and to love your neighbor as your self was actually superseded by the “new commandment” Jesus gave to His disciples, to love one another even as He had loved them.  The ultimate and divine standard of love was expressed and demonstrated by Jesus Himself.  I begin this morning with a brief review of the “new commandment” given by Jesus in that we must love our brother or sister even as He has loved us and then step up to the next level of His love.  We will then examine Christ’s words and actions to determine that as God’s Son, He loved His enemies by blessing them, doing good to them, and praying for them and their salvation.  To conclude today’s lesson we will examine the call to us to love our enemies just as Jesus Christ loved His enemies and laid His life down for them.  My hope and prayer is that we, God’s children, will possess a reverential fear of our LORD and not just hate evil but love all peoples that they may be saved.
