Mary- God’s Humble, Persevering Servant!

This morning we shall discover Mary, the mother of Jesus, was a woman of great character, conviction and perseverance!  At this time of the year many turn their attention to the birth of Jesus.  There is much more to the story of Mary’s life than the birth of Jesus.  She was a woman of impeccable virtue.  She loved the LORD more than anyone or anything.  As we look more deeply into the verses we are all so familiar with we will discover she was a righteous, blameless, humble and obedient servant of the LORD.  We will also discover she was a woman of great fortitude and perseverance.  As we dig into the prophecy proclaimed by Simeon we shall see just how much Mary would suffer during the thirty three years of Jesus life on earth.  Bearing the burdens of her son Jesus she would be grieved most of her life as the Scriptures would be fulfilled regarding her son’s suffering for all of mankind.  Finally, we shall see Mary vindicated for her perseverance of thirty-three years as she witnesses the establishment of the eternal Kingdom of God on earth on the day of Pentecost.
