Truth Statement #2 “I Am The Truth”

Text:John 14:1-6 and 1 Timothy 3:15
Introduction: Pilate asked Jesus, “What is Truth?” The evidence is overwhelming, the TRUTH was standing right in front of Pilate and he did not recognize HIM. Jesus Christ is the embodied standard of Truth!
Point 1: Let’s Review: What is Truth?!
- A review of the Greek word for Truth.
- Truth (225) “Aletheia”
- Absolute objective reality
- The true nature of God is revealed in the life of
Jesus Christ and His Word
- The candor and integrity of mind, demonstrated in the integrity of character through a life lived in harmony with divine truth.
Point 2: Jesus Christ the Embodiment of Truth
- In every way Jesus is the standard of Truth!
- John 17:17 God’s Word, the Scriptures are the standard of absolute truth.
- John 1:1 & 14-18 Jesus is the absolute standard of Truth. Fullness of Truth means complete, full, lacking in nothing.
- John 18:37 Jesus came to bear witness of the Truth.
Point 3: Christians called the Embodiment of Truth
- Christians called to be the standard of Truth Now!
- John 1:16-18 We, as Christians, have received the fullness of Truth! 1:22-23, 3:19, 4:13; Col. 2:9-10
- Ephesians 4:20 &21 Truth is in Christ. He is our standard for life. We must hear Him and Learn His way of life to walk in truth.
- 1 Timothy 3:15 Christians are to stand firm in truth and be immoveable and steadfast in Truth so others might be drawn out of the life of deceit and despair.
- 2 Corinthians 4:1-2 Christians are called to manifest the Truth, the very nature and character of Christ, that we might introduce Christ to every person and convict their conscience and create desire for the truth.
Conclusions: Christ and Christians manifest Truth!
