Love and Respect for Our Dad!

This morning we begin once again to address this year’s theme, “The Power of the Fear of God.” I want to begin on this Father’s Day Sunday by changing our perspective about the fear of our heavenly Father. The Scriptures teach He is our Dad and we can and should call Him, “Daddy!” He loves us more than we love ourselves. Psalm 84 and verse eleven tells us that, “No good thing does He withhold from those-(His children) who walk uprightly.” Again, we are told by our brother James that, “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.” God, our Father, our Daddy, continues to sacrifice Himself for us that we might live with Him forever.
What have we lovingly sacrificed for Him?
How have we shown Him honor and respect?
This morning let’s begin again our study of what the meaning of fearing God really is with a sermon titled, “Love and Respect for Dad!”
