Timothy- The Persevering Suffering Servant

I am deeply thankful for the truth of God’s words.  The LORD designed His word to challenge our thinking, pierce our hearts, empower us to serve Him fearlessly and to wipe away every reason or excuse that would keep us from serving Him.  This morning I will bring forth another example of great courage and conviction in the face of many overwhelming challenges both within and from outside a young man who seems to be not well suited to serve the LORD in a high profile, targeted position in Christ’s Church.  This morning we will look closely at the young man Timothy in the sermon I have titled, “Timothy-The Persevering Suffering Servant.  We will see this young man suffered personally in many ways and then was called into challenging active service in Kingdom building for our LORD.  My first point is titled “Timothy- The Man of Potential Excuses!”  We will discover that this young many had many challenges and personal difficulties that he could have easily use as excuses not to serve and put himself in the line of fire!  The second point will point out the many very difficult challenges he faced in his work as a teacher and evangelist.  Finally, in my third point, I will show the amazing character, faith, and convictions that this you man held which empowered him to become one of the greatest servants, as revealed by the LORD Jesus, in the New Testament!  Brethren, you will see that we are without excuse because the great example Timothy has left us
