Great Examples of Perseverance from both the Old and New Testaments

Good Lord’s Day Morning Brethren! As we near the end of the year and our annual theme of “The Power of Perseverance” we will turn our attention some great examples of perseverance from both the Old and New Testaments. To introduce this mini-series of lessons we will examining the passage from James 5:1-11. We will find that the context is addressed to brethren that are rich in this present world. I believe as Americans we have been richly blessed by God through the form of government established by our founding fathers. As we have moved away from the genuine and sincere faith in God and the standard of His word we have subtly been pulled in to a focus on this present world and all it offers instead of living for the LORD and serving Him with all we have and all we are. As we see our society and the world collapsing around us we as Christians must place our focus and hope on the LORD as we endure until the end! We will introduce by using the wise words from James as he shares with us the wisdom of God on how to endure to the end! We must strengthen our hearts, abstain from complaining about each other, look to the examples of the prophets and apostles for our example of endurance and answer the question, “How did they endure to the end?
