The Power of HIS Presence God’s Love Part 1

Text:Acts 3:19 and Romans 5:1-5

Introduction: Through faith we are justified and receive the grace of God through the sacrifice of Christ. In this grace we stand and rejoice in the glory of God and times of tribulation as it builds our character through perseverance and hope. In this salvation the love of God is poured into our hearts through His indwelling Holy Spirit who was given to us when we faithfully obeyed the gospel.

Point 1: The Power of His Presence- His Spirit In Us!

The real power of His presence in our bodies is Love.
Romans 8:9-11 Spiritual power in our physical life is given to us through His Spirit so we are able to live as He lived. 1 Corth. 6:19 &20
Galatians 4:4-7 We are adopted sons of God because He sent His Spirit into our hearts and He has poured His love into our hearts through His Spirit within. 8:15 &16
1 John 4:11-13 God abides in us and because of this His love is perfected in us as we learn to love one another as He loves us!

Point 2: God’s Love is Present in Our Lives

The presence of God is manifest in our love for others
2 Corinthians 5:14-16 Now, because His Spirit indwells us, we are controlled by His love and selflessly love one another.
Ephesians 5:1 &2 Because we are children of God we are able to walk in love just as He also love us living a life of sacrifice for others. John 13:34
Romans 5:6-11 When we were helpless sinners, enemies of God He demonstrated His great love for Through Christ dying for us bearing all our sins in His body. 1:26-27

Conclusion:The love of God is present in our lives

through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.

Practical Applications:

After reviewing this lesson, what are you going to differently or better next week to?

Brainstorm timely, practical, specific acts of love to show the presence of Christ in and through your life.

Who in your life needs to experience, in a real and practical ways, the presence of the love of Christ through your life?

“Presence” is much more than “Physical” presence. It is thoughtful/cognitive presence, personal/emotional presence, moral/motive presence. Give channels or tools you can use and will use to be present in people lives?

Examples: Phone call, one of many media tools, a letter, etc.
