Title:Draw Near and Abide in His Presence!

Text:James 4:8 and Hebrews 10:19-25

Introduction: His presence in our lives brings joy and peace, but we cannot truly experience this joy and peace unless we are present in and with Him.

Point 1: Draw Near to Him in Spiritual Presence!

We are called to be spiritually present in Him.
Hebrews 10:19-25-We must enter through the body and blood of Christ. We must be in contact with the blood and the Spirit.

Hebr. 9:14, Acts 22:16, Gal. 3:26-27, Acts 2:38

Luke 22:14-20– We must partake in the memorial feast of His sacrifice each Lord’s Day assembly and lay our lives down like Him throughout the week. 1 Cor. 10:15-16& Hebr. 10:23-31

Point 2: Draw Near to Him, Present in Thought & Word!

We are called to listen to and speak with Him always
John 8:31-32- (Listen to Him) We are called to possess the mind and heat of Christ- only through His Word.

Eph. 4:20-21 & Rom. 10:14-17

Hebrews 7:25- (Speak to and through Him)In and threw His name we are to draw near to God through intercession.

Eph. 6:18-20, Phil 4:6-7 & Col. 4:2-4

Point 3: Draw Near to Him in Physical Presence!

We are called to be physically with Him and serve Him
Matthew 25:31-40 We must be concerned and physically present in each others lives. 2:3-5 & 2 Cor. 5:14-15
Hebrews 6:10-12 WE must be looking to the needs of the brethren and serving them with our gifts, talents and abilities..

Gal. 5:13-14& 1 Jn. 16-18

Conclusion: Have you been immersed to receive His indwelling presence? Are you present at the Lord’s Supper, listening to His word and praying each day? Are you serving Him by serving the brethren?

Practical Applications:

What were the take-aways from this morning’s sermon?

What are the essentials for coming into His presence?

What more must we do than just read the Bible and pray to be mindfully, emotionally, and morally present with Him?

How is it physically possible to be present with Christ?

Describe how are will works to be present with Him?
