The Three Facets of the Power of Presence!

Text:Genesis 3:8-9 and Exodus 33:7-11
Introduction: There is no substitute for face-to-face presence in a person’s life. As a Christian Christ must be present in your body through His Holy Spirit. You must also be present in His life. We also need to be fully present in other people’s lives.
Point 1: The Power of HIS PRESENCE in our lives.
- The LORD is ever present but seeks intimacy with us.
- Desire…The Lord desires that no one will be lost but all will be saved through Christ. 1 Tim.2:3)
- Intimacy…God, through His indwelling presence makes His home in our lives. (John 1:23)
- Personal…Jesus knows our unique individual lives, intimately involved (John 10:14/ Psa. 139: 13)
Point 2: The Power of OUR PRESENCE in His life.
- Our power comes in choosing to be present with Him.
- Love of God…must be with all our hearts, minds, soul, and strength. (Luke 10:27-28)
- Our every thought…must be surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. (2 Cor. 10:3-5 / Rom. 12:2)
- Without exception…we must consistently seek the interests of Christ first1 ( 6:33)
Point 3: Power of OUR PRESENCE in other’s lives.
- The power of our influence is His presence in our life.
- Lord’s will…is for us to love other people like Him, sacrificially. ( 5:1-3/ 1 John 4:15-18)
- Others first…must be our mindset. Selflessly putting others needs before our own. ( 2:3-5)
- Vindicate by…our Christ like deeds and actions. Actions prove genuine love. ( 11:19)
- Excel still more…in the love of Christ for others in giving, sharing and caring. (1 Thess. 3:11-4:1)
Conclusion: Three questions we must ask ourselves
1.Is the Lord intimately present in your life?
- Do you consistently chose to be present in His life?
- Are you consistently “Fully Present” in others lives?
